Friday Afternoon Panel Podcast
Every Friday night at 11:30pm, I appear as a member of the Friday Afternoon Panel on Daniel Pettigrew’s radio show on Endeavour Online (www.endeavouronline.net).
I’ve decided to post a Podcast of the Friday Afternoon Panel here each week because 11:30pm is not the most convenient time for you to listen, I know that. So you can download each week’s episode here. New episodes will normally be available the Saturday afternoon following the broadcast (so about 15 hours after the live broadcast).

Endeavour Online has become Endeavour FM and Daniel’s hosting the lunch show on 87.7 Endeavour FM. This week Daniel is joined by Nick Hodgson (who hosts the Lunch show on Endeavour Online and the Weekend Breakfast show on Endeavour FM) and Andrew. They discussed their highlights of the week, the 7 Day news quiz, storm chasers, the oldest tweeter in the world dies, the last day of things, Andrew’s Tech News for the week discusses YouTube upping it’s video limit from 10 to 15mins, stories from the BlackHat security conference & finally the majority of the world has now been upgraded to the new Hotmail and plans for the coming weekend.

They discussed their highlights of the week which leads into a discussion about Birthday’s (and Andrew’s Birthday Calendar), the 7 Day news quiz, game shows, great ideas which didn’t work out, Andrew discusses aliens sending twitter style messages across the universe, Nick discusses the new drinking laws, Andrew’s Tech News for the week discusses the beatup that was the iPhone 4 press conference, the Xbox 360 Kinect Pricing, the Windows Shortcut vulnerability and Windows Phone 7 launch hardware partners and plans for the coming weekend (including Nick’s Drive show & Weekend Breakfast Show) which leads into a brief discussion about boats and Daniel buying presents for his girlfriend.

They discussed their highlights of the week, the world cup tipping octopus, Daniel tests Nick and Andrew on a quiz about news events of the week, Nick discusses what’s coming up this week on his weekend breakfast show, Andrew’s Tech News for the week discusses the iPhone 4 antenna issue, the iTunes store hacked, the cancellation of the KIN Phone and Facebook closes Facebook Gifts and plans for the coming weekend.

Daniel and Andrew are alone today because Kurt’s is stuck trying to get home from work this week and so spend most of the show talking about Endeavour FM!. They discuss their highlights of the week, habits (like saying a old station’s name when you move to a new station), Andrew reads some tweets from a fake BP Public Relations Twitter account (twitter.com/bpglobalpr), Daniel plays a mystery song for Andrew to see if he can guess who it is and if he likes it which leads into a discussion of what songs do you like from an artist you normally dislike, a look back at the last 6 months of The Friday Afternoon Panel which then learns into a massive rant by Andrew about TV shows running late and mucking up recording via EPG, Andrew’s Tech News for the week discusses everything from E3 (the massive gaming console trade show) including Xbox, Playstation, Wii and the 3DS + Hotmail begins to roll out and plans for the coming weekend and next 6 weeks.

Daniel and Andrew are alone today because Kurt’s is off to watch the Soccer (Football) this week and so spend most of the show talking about the World Cup! They discuss their highlights of the week, the latest you stayed up, Daniel tells a Funny Story, We talk everything World Cup (but without commentating ;P ), Daniel has a message for the producers of Big Brother, Andrew’s Tech News for the week discusses the new iPhone 4, Windows Live Office and the Google Wifi controversy and plans for the coming weekend.

Daniel and Andrew are alone today because Kurt’s stuck at work this week and so spend most of the show talking about TV! They discuss their highlights of the week (hooray for block exams), Big Brother starting it’s final season in the UK and the reality TV in general (including a show about Parking Officers), Daniel continues Nick’s push to play a Justin Bieber song to annoy the boss , Should iTV have postponed Coronation Street after the recent UK shootings, Daniel’s wasp story , a brief mention of the UK shootings and comparing it to Port Arthur Massacre, more on the Coronation Street postponing and when will they catch up the episodes missed, Andrew’s Tech News for the week about the Windows Live Essentials 2011, would you date someone from your workplace?, where Reece from the Australian Report has been and plans for the coming weekend.
4. The Friday Afternoon Panel with Daniel Pettigrew, Andrew Birch and Kurt Gasparini – 28th May 2010 (1:04:26)
Daniel, Andrew and Kurt discuss what Kurt had for dinner, their highlights of the week, the end of school, muck up day, irrelevance of most of school and exam pressures, weird stories, when did you get your first computer?, Daniel’s Technical Problems (Andrew & Kurt find this quite amusing!), 28,000 people in the UK still have a black and white TV – and they have to pay for a TV licence in the UK (to Andrew’s horror!!), Facebook Privacy Settings finally updated and plans for the coming weekend.

Daniel, Andrew and Kurt discuss their highlights of the week, the top 10 lies for women and men, favourite birthdays, the weather and a story about a dodgy air conditioner, a preview of the new Windows Live Hotmail, an update about Facebook’s Privacy Issues, Miley Cyrus (ew!) and Justin Bieber doesn’t know what German is, a Facebook addiction quiz and plans for the coming weekend.

2. The Friday Afternoon Panel with Daniel Pettigrew, Andrew Birch and Kurt Gasparini – 14th May 2010 (47:20)
Daniel, Andrew and Kurt discuss their highlights of the week, wrong numbers and prank calls, brief mention of the UK general election, rude people and inconsiderate/dangerous drivers (+ pedestrians and cyclists), Favourite meals and cooking abilities, Facebook privacy issues, Twitter, Quizzes, Melbourne Storm sues NRL, favourite news stories of the week and plans for the coming weekend.
Note: I do not speak as much as I usually would this week due to technical problems for 1/2 the show which was causing a 3 second delay between Daniel/Kurt and myself. This thankfully was solved before the Facebook segment You won’t notice the delay on the podcast because I have edited it out as best as I can, but it was there and very noticeable when it was live on the air.
