Time to post again. A big sorry for my lack of posting during the school term, I decided to concentrate on other things so this blog kind of got forgotten. I’ll now give you a brief update of the last 9 weeks. Year 12 started off really well. I’ve posted 2 articles to my website in the last 9 weeks. One of them because I was annoyed at all the Vista bagging going on at school when I returned, and the other was my IPT assignment. The task was to write an argumentative essay on whether or not Stephen Conroy’s internet filter was a good policy. I wrote a strongly worded essay arguing heavily against the policy and for that I got an A.

The rest of the term was just the standard types of assessments for year 12 students: reports, essays, exams and orals. I also have been keeping the minutes and agendas for the after school prefect meetings all under control and up to date. The term has turned out really tiring actually. It finished off with the QCS practise test, to see how much the in school tuition has improved our results. Personally I do not think setting an all day test on the last day of school is such a wonderful idea, but that’s what occurred. I also think that the Queensland education system and the way we examine and assess senior students across the state is fundamentally broken, because what everyone else in my subject or my school scores in a test, should not affect what my exit score should be. That gives schools with more resources and a better socioeconomic area a better advantage over schools who don’t have these positive factors, but that’s another story for another time. I also finished uploading all 419 podcasts to the Spoonman Fan Club. The Spoonman was an awesome late night talkback announcer on Triple M from 2005-2008 and when his show finished, KG and I decided to set up a central tribute/info website for him. It’s taken me nearly 1 and 1/2 years to upload all the podcasts, but they’re all there now.

I’ve also been following the developments in the tech industry, most of them by Microsoft. The Windows Phone looks absolutely fantastic and I cannot wait to get one next year. Good on Microsoft for starting afresh with their phones and trying something different, instead of just being an iPhone clone. The other big one for me is Windows Live Wave 4. I obtained a leaked copy of the Live Essentials for Wave 4 and so I may be writing an article about them soon. Here’s a sneak peak of Windows Live Messenger 2010.

Windows Live Messenger 2010 Beta Milestone 2

These holidays I have a few things planned. It will be mainly relaxing, but I have a few tasks and little jobs to do that will keep me busy and also Sam and I plan to visit The Bryan Madigan of SeaFM 91.9 on the Sunshine Coast. He’s the guy who used to take the callers on the Spoonman show and also was one of the 3 announcers of the ATFS podcast. Lastly – on Wednesday when Windows Live Messenger had a bug in in when people were appearing offline when they were really online, I posted here the instructions on how you could get around that. I thank all of you who came here and read the post, I had nearly 3000 viewers in one night and so I’m really grateful and I hope you all stick around to see what I post and also for updates on my main website, which you can find at the top of this page.

Thanks for reading, leave comments as you wish and I’ll hopefully have holidays content to write here for you!!

Well the last time I wrote here, it was 2009 and now it’s 2010. I now have all 3 of my websites back onto the net and I must stop procrastinating and actually write the 11 articles I promised I would, there’s been lots of stuff happening lately that I really should cover. I also need to record 2 podcasts, 1 is my TechPod, the audio summary of those 11 articles and also Sam Anderson, KG and myself need to record our, look at 2009 in 2010 podcast, basically our thoughts of the last 10 years.

I’ve also got a bit of spending to do to get myself equipped for 2010. 2010 is going to be very different to 2009 I suspect. Already Odie from MMM has finished at Triple M Sydney (he finished his final shift today) and my friend KG starts his first job tomorrow, things are moving ahead. In only a few short weeks, I shall be entering year 12, so quickly this has happened too.

Also this is the official rule that my friends and I have decided (and I’ll try and follow), this year is ‘Twenty Ten’, not ‘Two Thousand and Ten’, because we never said ‘One Thousand, Nine Hundred and Ten’, we said ‘Nineteen Ten’.

Hopefully this decade will be the decade of Rock again, rather than hip hop and dance, therefore I nominate Hip-Hop, Dance and Rap for a GTFO award!

The GTFO awards were held on a show I listen to called NSFW and these were the winners of some of the categories

In the Celebrities category the GTFO award was given to: Lady Gaga and Her Penis

In the Internet Behaviours category the GTFO award was given to: Saying ‘First’ in the comments of items on the web.

In the Memes category the GTFO award was given to: ‘I’ma let you finish, but’

In the Organisations category the GTFO award was given to: the RIAA/MPAA

In the People’s Choice category the GTFO award was given to: Mac Vs PC arguements

In previous years the GTFO award has been given to Chris Crocker, Playboy, Motorola Razor, Soviet Union, Y2K Bug, Hitler and American Online.

Lastly, I really hope Triple M Sydney & Melbourne make their way out of the rut they’re currently in at the moment, I think Triple M Melbourne has a chance, but at the moment Sydney doesn’t look very promising!

That’s all for tonight, plan to blog soon, hopefully after my 11 articles are done.

OMG, today is the last day of 2009. It started off with 4WDing up toward Helidon, Esk, Crows Nest and then Toowoomba. The area around Crows Nest has a fair bit to do with the national park nearby, but sadly none of that was able to be properly explored by foot due to rain, yes that stuff that falls out of the sky. Toowoomba and Crows Nest badly need the rain though, so I’m happy they got it, and we can always come back another day to fully explore the area.

What we were able to do and when I mean we, I mean my family and another family who went with us, what we were able to do was to find geocaches. Geocaches are little hidden treasures with a notepad inside them, that are hidden all across the world in sneaky places (there’s several in Cleveland for example) and your mission to to get the GPS co-ordinates from the website, read the clues and then head for those co-ordinates and try to find the treasure and log in the notepad you found it! There was one about 2 minutes outside of Gatton and one in Toowoomba.

Now as I sit at home writing this post, I’m watching Shaun McAllaff’s show on the TV and listening to 97.3 FM’s New Year’s Eve Party Mix which is commercial free from 6pm-6am – 12 hours of nonstop party music

So yea – no big parties, just me, my computer, my radio, my TV, my family, a quick chat to Ashlee, Alistair, Sara, Nick and Gary on the computer and the internet is the way I’m going to finish 2009, and I think it’s just awesome.

Have a great party everyone who’s partying. May 2010 be much better than 2009 was!

Oh and my 2010 resolution is 1280×800 if you wanted to know. Thank you for Kevin the ATM for that awesome idea!
