The Last Day Before The Last First Day of School!

by Administrator Andrew on Jan.26, 2010, under Personal

Well, it’s Australia Day 2010, the last day of holidays before school properly resumes tomorrow and year 12 begins. It will be a busy year but on that day November 19th 2010, it will be worth it because school will be officially over. I hope to have time to keep blogging here, but school work might get in the way of that, I also hope school work doesn’t interrupt my Andrew Tech Help news and how to articles.

Today I had a number of different things happen. Sadly my digital TV will be off for a couple of weeks as the small adapter for the aerial broke off, so it will take at least a week to buy one off ebay I suspect. So that’s a bit disappointing, but not much you can do.

I did play with Microsoft’s Windows Virtual PC today. I had some terrible trouble getting it going though. Microsoft software was giving me some contradicting messages. One Microsoft utility said it was all working perfectly and another one said it was not working at all. I had to do a BIOS update and now it works perfectly. I can run applications designed for XP like Macromedia Fireworks 8 in a virtual XP mode which acts like a Windows 7 application. I shall hopefully write about it on my website soon.

I have a new sleep time of between 11:30pm-12:00am EST on school nights for the next 10 months and then I’m finally free from bed times! Thanks for reading this blog and yea – 10 months of school left :O

Tomorrow, the Last First Day of School!

The Last Day of 2009!

by Administrator Andrew on Dec.31, 2009, under Personal

OMG, today is the last day of 2009. It started off with 4WDing up toward Helidon, Esk, Crows Nest and then Toowoomba. The area around Crows Nest has a fair bit to do with the national park nearby, but sadly none of that was able to be properly explored by foot due to rain, yes that stuff that falls out of the sky. Toowoomba and Crows Nest badly need the rain though, so I’m happy they got it, and we can always come back another day to fully explore the area.

What we were able to do and when I mean we, I mean my family and another family who went with us, what we were able to do was to find geocaches. Geocaches are little hidden treasures with a notepad inside them, that are hidden all across the world in sneaky places (there’s several in Cleveland for example) and your mission to to get the GPS co-ordinates from the website, read the clues and then head for those co-ordinates and try to find the treasure and log in the notepad you found it! There was one about 2 minutes outside of Gatton and one in Toowoomba.

Now as I sit at home writing this post, I’m watching Shaun McAllaff’s show on the TV and listening to 97.3 FM’s New Year’s Eve Party Mix which is commercial free from 6pm-6am – 12 hours of nonstop party music :D

So yea – no big parties, just me, my computer, my radio, my TV, my family, a quick chat to Ashlee, Alistair, Sara, Nick and Gary on the computer and the internet is the way I’m going to finish 2009, and I think it’s just awesome.

Have a great party everyone who’s partying. May 2010 be much better than 2009 was!

Oh and my 2010 resolution is 1280×800 if you wanted to know. Thank you for Kevin the ATM for that awesome idea!
